Anafranil: Makes me FAT!

January first I weighed about 130, now about two weeks into the new year and the drug I am ten pounds heavier. I asked the psychiatrist about this and she agreed that it makes you crave the fat in the foods. I think it is the sugar  in the foods. I mean that I don't crave ice cream, but corn chips, popcorn, rice with butter. You get the idea. If I was more of a sweets person, I would go down that road, but I am more of a salt person, hence the chips.

The antidepressants and the side effects are not what I really want for myself, but they keep me "sane".
By sane I mean non-depression, a state that lets me handle the stresses and life without breaking down and entering in a mental hospital. This is the raw edge of life. Take a drug that makes the body react in a very unhealthy way so that the mind can cope with the stress. Catch 22? In a LOOP of POOP?

To maintain a healthy body one must have put into the body non-acidic products. Medications are of their nature, acidic. But to have a mind that is not terrorized by depressive, anxious thoughts is a priority as well. So down the road to ill health again? To being overweight and other health problems because of the way the drugs are causing me to feel and react?? The diagnosis was OCD and I can see how that applies, just in the anxiety prone nature of this post.

Notes to the Therapist: Sheldon

Current symptoms now physically:

When under the exposure these are the symptoms
loss of balance, the ears fill up with liquid
loss of spacial judgements, knocking things over easily, missing turns in car, running over curbs
    typing becomes difficult and slow
itchy skin all over
post nasal drip
blurry eyes
gas
constipation
mental stuff starts happening
loss of concentration
short term memory loss
irritation
anxiety,
depression
Once I cover my nose and mouth with a clean cloth and breathe for about 25 minutes, not talking, not eating, all symptoms are lessened. Even the depression.
Now I have already put an air purifier and de-humidifier in my bedroom, and that has helped greatly for sleep. I used to wake up in severe depression and could not figure out why.
I have started on the generic OTC antihistamines for Zyrtec and Allerga.  Went to get a shot of steroid on last Tuesday, and it helped for about two days. They said it would last for one week Now I am on 5 mg of Prednisone. It barely helps. Right now I have to be outside for the job. So I take a lot of breathing breaks. I am taking the OTC Allerga and Prednisone together. It barely helps, even in the house (out of the bedroom with the de-humidifer and purifier).
My questions
I believe it is mold.  The symptoms are severe in rainy weather.  Even in overcast weather. What other type of thing could it be?
What types of drugs and treatments are available for this?
What strengths are  the upper limits and can be considered safe.?

I see the allergist on Wednesday and want to have a little knowledge about what to expect on the issue.
Thanks, and I hope to see you in about 10 days!

Sort of scared straight? There are others out there that are far worse. But before I went in I was not on medications for close to two years. Now I need that medication more than anything to hold on to the job that is outside.
In therapy we covered how I am fused to the depression and how if I can see myself seperate from that disease, then the healing begins. Also we covered ANTs. Automatic Negative Thoughts, and I have ordered the book on the subject by Sally-Anne McCormick.

Would like to deal with in therapy here with Ms. Sheldon:
How to deal with this all together and not go deeper into the abyss
Many food allergies,
  • wheat,
  • milk products
  • nuts
  • peanuts
  • citrus
  • fermented food give me problems
  • plants of the mustard family, broccoli, cabbage, spinach.
  • seeds
  • tomatoes
  • garlic
  • fish
  • beef
  •  to the point that I cook all things for myself.
  •  When eating out It has to be at a place that does not use MSG in any form.
  • aspratame  can not be tolerated, only Stevia
  • sugar easily grows some kind of thick spit on the tongue-so even fruits are out, so are potatoes and yams
  • foods that are left must be eaten in a sort of rotation. Hard on me to do. Need help there.
Environmental
  • dust
  • dust mites
  • grass
  • pollen
  • possible mold
  • chemicals
  • on antidepressants '93 to 1/25/ 2110, off until 10/26/2011
Started allergy shots on 11/15/11 for the top 4 in above list, 4th is still unproven.

Wilson's Temperature Syndrome

The following blog is one that I have been reading off and on for a while now. Enjoy-

What can't be said about herbs

Air__water__plants
Do you think poor diet can contribute to disease and poor health?
Sugar provides calories, but how do you think a person's health would be after a year of eating nothing but sugar?
Do you think changing a person's diet might have any chance of reversing illness and disease (especially if poor diet is contributing to the poor health)?
If you do believe that what people eat can have some impact on disease then you may be surprised to know what can't be said about dietary herbal supplements in marketing. Dietary Supplements are regulated as food and not drugs, and that determines what can and can't be said in advertising.
In the U.S., if a product is classified as a drug then the law permits manufacturers to claim that the product can improve health. If a product is classified as a food then the law (Dietary Supplement Health Education Act of 1994) does not permit manufactures to claim that the product can improve any health problems. They can say that they help support health that's already normal, but they can't imply that they can make less than optimal health any better.
You might say, "That's funny, I hear companies advertising that supplements will help people lose weight, or cure this and that, all the time." That's true, and you'll also notice that those companies that make those claims do not stay on the market very long before they are shut down by the FDA.
The FDA hasn't proven, and isn't saying, that no herbs can benefit any illness, the FDA is just operating under a law that is preventing manufacturers from saying so without the product being classified as a drug. Dietary supplement manufacturers can't even use double-blind scientific studies published in peer-reviewed medical journals that show that an herb treats a disease as a basis upon which to make claims about their products that have that herb as an ingredient. Just because an herb has been shown in studies to help correct a certain health problem doesn't mean a manufacturer's product, that contains that herb, will generate the same benefit.
Companies that produce herbal dietary supplements (which are classified as food) aren't even allowed to share what other people are saying (testimonials) about how their products have helped correct their health problems or the health problems of others.
Only if the manufacturer gets its own particular product classified as a drug with the FDA and goes through the approval process for drugs would the manufacturer be allowed to make such claims. The New Drug Application process with the FDA can easily cost on the order of 80 million dollars, and no companies undertake that financial risk without a good chance of recouping that investment. It would be very hard to recoup that investment if the company did not have a patent on the product to protect their interests, and herbs can't be patented because they already exist. Competing companies could make similar products with the same ingredients and sell them at a fraction of the cost (since they don't have to recoup $80 million).
So whether companies are legally allowed to say their products can correct health problems, doesn't depend on whether they can or can't, but whether they are classified as foods or drugs.
Isn't that surprising?

P.S. > You'll notice in our Newsletters that we share testimonials from people about how the T3 therapy has turned their lives around. We are allowed to share those because T3 is classified as a drug.

Coconut Oils

Coconut oil has too much sugar in it. That is what I think, I have adverse reaction to it. Leave it alone for a while and I feel better.

(It is a oil from a nut source, I am allergic to all tree nuts and peanuts-editor)

More evidence of Oral Yeast.

Early in the morning, each morning, I spit yellowish brown stuff in the sink. Also each morning I get up there is a coating of white gunk on the tongue. I have been told that this is oral thrush. A type of yeast infection. Yeast infection causes depression. The blood test came back negative on the yeast infection, but I think that the blood test is not conclusive. So I will have a stool test. The stool test will tell of other things as well as the the yeast infection.
Come on! white coating on the tongue and the blood test comes back negative?
Every time I eat sugar food, sugar added to the food, or a food with natural sugar I get depressed. Bingo! It has to be yeast. Why I can not be given Nystatin I don't know. I will have to look up what this drug can do to a person besides stopping the yeast. It is a statin drug.
Even Edy's Strawberry Ice Bar has to much sugar. Symptoms that occur: popping in the ears that precludes infection, burning area around private area where urine comes out. Hemorrhoids inflamed. Depression and anxiety. White gunk on the tongue. All this points to a systemic problem, not just a brain problem. I will pursue this.
Letter from Tish, my sister-inlaw,who is a pharmacist
If it is oral thrush, it is treated with oral Nystatin suspension. An internal yeast problem, they also may oral nystatin in pills. Of course both require a prescription. The stuff you could be spitting out is from your sinuses.(the yellow stuff) A sinus rinse by MCneil my help this. Sometimes when you get alot of stuff in your nose in the air it can manifest itself in the sinuses. You could have a sinus infection more so than thrush. Just a thought...simple test from the doctor where they can shine a light in a dark room over the sinus area to help evaluate it. Hope this helps, and hope you feel better.

Yeast is found

The blood test for the yeast came back negative, but I went for the treatment anyway. I am on a supplement that is called Kandida Plus and I purchased an ebook by Linda Allen about the candida yeast. Both have helped immensely. When I eat anything with the least amount of sugar, I get depressed. But now more so. It seems that as I progress there are more white cells that fight the yeast released into the blood stream. As the yeast is killed the white cells are floating around awaiting for something to kill. When sugar is introduced more of the white cells are pouncing on the culprut and I feel it more. But I am healing. More up time than down.

I have eliminated many foods

Over the past weeks I have eliminated many foods. Gluten, milk, eggs, soy, sugar, aspertame and sugar alchol sweetners. I know that a certain diet will not cause a reaction. Nuts, berries, fruits in general. Rice.(I am allergic to nuts, seeds, and rice as I have learned of late 8/26/11-editor) Spinach, collards, raw vegtables. As I go off these allergins I have itchy skin, headaches and in the end I notice less depression and anxiety. I have made mistakes and have paid for them. But to know that it is food that is largely causing the problems is amazing. ( I have mold problems-editor)
I feel at this time that everything in my system is messed up and has been for a long time. I am trying to fix digestion. I am also trying to detox at the same time. Just these two things. I know that I have eaten something wrong when I wake up with itchy skin. But this is good because my body is throwing off the toxins. But at least now I know what is causing the problems. Before I thought I was hopeless. No doctor in the history of all of this would tell me that it may be allergens. All this pain and doubt of my own sanity because doctors wanted me to just take the pills and keep coming back to get more pills. If I could sue I would. I just want to make some sense of this and start to get better.
